Years of carefully constructed XL Connect workbooks and Epicor BAQs represent real work. FastMigrate brings that work into FastClose instead of asking you to start scratch.
FastConvert for XL Connect · FastBAQ for Epicor BAQs
Epicor has confirmed XL Connect's end of life, which leaves finance teams with a library of workbooks and no supported platform under them. FastConvert reads those workbooks and rebuilds them as FastClose reports — same structure, same figures, now live and supported.

One is a library of Excel reports that has lost its platform. The other is a set of queries IT built that finance now wants to use itself. FastMigrate covers both.

Point FastConvert at your XL Connect library. It focuses on capturing the hierarchy in each report — the expensive part to rebuild by hand — as a reusable FastClose hierarchy that can power every P&L and Balance Sheet in the system.
FastBAQ imports an existing Epicor BAQ — or native SQL — matches it to an existing FastClose template report, configures it and dynamically builds out any gap not natively covered by the report. It can also pull the full list of BAQs straight from Kinetic, so nothing has to be found and handed over manually. The query logic your team already validated becomes something finance can report on, filter and drill — without another IT ticket.

FastConvert analyses existing XL Connect spreadsheets and identifies the structure and relationships within the report, producing an Excel hierarchy file you can review before importing into FastClose. Reporting knowledge you've already built becomes the starting point, not something you rebuild from scratch.
No structured hierarchy to start from? FastConvert can begin with a simple flat Trial Balance, analysing the Chart of Accounts and helping determine appropriate aggregation and hierarchy levels based on recognised financial reporting and Chart of Accounts design principles.
FastConvert isn't limited to converting existing reports. Define your own hierarchy structure directly in Excel and import it into FastClose — a simple, familiar way to create or modify reporting structures without building every element by hand in the FastClose Designer.
The reports look familiar. What sits underneath them does not.
No. FastMigrate is Epicor-only, because XL Connect and BAQs are Epicor technologies. Customers on other ERPs start with FastClose's standard report content instead.
FastConvert migrates XL Connect report definitions into FastClose reports. FastBAQ imports an Epicor BAQ as a FastClose data source so finance can report on it directly. Many Epicor customers use both.
The hierarchy — that's the part that's genuinely expensive to rebuild by hand, and once captured it can be reused across any number of report configurations. Column layout isn't converted; that's quick to set up again in Designer, so effort isn't spent converting something cheap to redo.
Both. FastBAQ converts native SQL as well as Epicor BAQs, and can retrieve the full list of BAQs directly from Kinetic rather than needing them found and handed over manually.
Less, not more. Existing BAQs are reused where they are useful, but new questions are answered inside FastClose without raising a request — which is the point.
Yes. FastClose runs against Epicor public cloud and on-premise deployments alike, and migration works the same way in both.
A migration review starts with your real reports, not a slide.
